HM Business School is proud to announce that Prof. Dr. Stefan Hohberger has been awarded a prestigious Jean Monnet Chair by the European Commission – the first ever granted to Munich University of Applied Sciences.
Jean Monnet Chairs recognize outstanding scholars worldwide through a highly competitive selection process for university professors with strong expertise in EU studies. Prof. Hohberger convinced the Commission with his project “Competitiveness and Sustainable Growth for a Global Europe” (GLOBAL-EU).
The three-year Chair, endowed with a €60,000 in funding, combines innovative teaching, evidence-based research, and outreach activities. Students will benefit from new courses that link theory and practice, as well as annual field trips to EU institutions. Research collaborations with the European Commission and international universities will generate policy-relevant insights, while webinars, school lectures, and teacher workshops will foster public dialogue and strengthen trust in European values.
For HM Business School, the award not only highlights Prof. Hohberger’s academic excellence but also enhances the school’s international visibility and its profile in European studies and global collaboration.
