MBA Green Economy and Digital Innovation (part-time)
The MBA Green Economy and Digital Innovation is our career booster for people in employment with a degree in (mainly) other subjects who, as professionals and leaders, wish to transfer the megatrends toward ecological sustainability and digitalization into specific processes and projects for their companies. Typically, graduates will work as either specialist or management employee. With their substantial professional experience as a base, students receive the solid business management of a “traditional” MBA, but focus in each single module on the sustainability and digitalization challenges involved. The graduates of this study program shape the future. They give decisive impulses, drive digital innovations and develop sustainable business models.
The MBA Green Economy and Digital Innovation is a five semester part-time study program for “doers” which combines consolidated basic knowledge and innovative content with future relevance at achievable costs. In each single module one or two professors who teach the underlying theory are supported by one or two practitioners who contribute specific tasks to work on. In this way, students actually explore the challenging territory of future economic decision making: The simultaneous implementation of sustainability and digitalization requirements does not necessarily go hand in hand, but involves target conflicts which must be solved specifically for each business.
The teaching methods and exam formats employed focus consistently on the development of practice-oriented problem solving and innovation skills. Real tasks, interactive lecturing, team work in projects and lab-based learning prepare the students in the best possible way for a creative role in the transformation processes ahead. The assessment of performance is based exclusively on the development of concepts in the course of projects.
You possess a university degree in science, humanities, or social sciences and several years’ work experience? You want to accelerate your career and imagine yourself rather in specific project work than in a managerial position? You wish to actively shape the development toward more digitalization and ecological sustainability? Then the MBA Green Economy and Digital Innovation is the perfect study program for you!
The study program Green Economy and Digital Innovation prepares the students with content and methods for an active role in the design of the technological and ecological changes of the economy. The consistently practice-oriented combination of a solid education in the MBA core subjects (strategy, leadership, marketing, finances, law) with the future topics digitalization, innovation and ecological sustainability provides the graduates new ways of thinking and acting in business management. Thus they are capable of creating specific business models, projects and processes on business level.
The study program Green Economy and Digital Innovation comprises a total of five part-time semesters which can be attended outside working hours. Lectures and workshops take place online on Wednesday evening and Friday afternoon. During one week of personal attendance per semester (January/February and July) students and lecturers meet at different locations for the in-depth exploration of topics, field trips and networking.
Content of the first three semesters, each comprising three modules, is the basic MBA knowledge. Right from the beginning each module combines current business management approaches with subjects from the areas of green economy and digitalization. During the fourth semester and in the course of writing the master thesis, the students apply the experience gained creatively to their own career. They develop specific ideas and business models to be implemented in their further professional career in their own or their employer’s business.
