This master's degree programme leads you directly to the very core of new business models and processes. It will provide you with the skills and expertise to meet the significant business challenges resulting from digital transformation and new technologies. You gain a deep understanding of major digital technologies such as AI, Big Data and IoT, and you learn how to navigate in a digital and international business environment. The learning methods applied match the programme’s objectives: real-world tasks presented by business partners are solved with a lab-based approach. The Learning Lab, the Co-Innovation Lab and the Research Lab prepare you well for your career in research, business development or change management positions. Your expertise will be crucial for any business that has to close the gap between management and technology.

The MSc in Business Administration, specialising in Digital Technology Management, qualifies graduates to start their careers as specialists and future managers in the areas of technology management, project management, product management, digital business strategy and business/market analysis. Due to the practical approach and the subject-related learning methods, the graduates stand out for their knowledge transfer and cooperative teamwork abilities.
Each of the three semesters of the Master's specialisation Digital Technology Management has its own focus. The first semester will provide you with in-depth knowledge about research methods, relevant technologies, financial strategies and agile management practices. The second semester focuses on the economics of digitalisation and digital business development. The third semester is – besides the preparation of your Master's thesis – devoted to an extensive research study on technology management and a real-life co-innovation project for a digital business case.

Programme structure (for students starting from winter term 2026)
An internship abroad lasting several months with an international company – which may also form part of your Master’s thesis – or an additional semester at an accredited foreign university are optional. The stay abroad can take place after the second semester of study.
Thanks to the intercultural design of the programme you will be well prepared to work abroad.
As there are usually more applications than places available at partner universities abroad, master's degree students must go through a selection procedure. A place cannot be guaranteed.

The programme in Digital Technology Management prepares you for a wide range of management positions. Technology management, project management, product management, digital business strategy, business/market analysis and innovation have job profiles suitable for you. Equally, you might consider a career as a consultant or become an entrepreneur in an innovative start-up enterprise.

The entry requirements for the master's degree programme in Business Administration are:
- a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (or an equivalent subject) comprising at least six theoretical semesters and at least 180 credit points (ECTS), completed with an overall examination mark of 2.59 or better.
- If only 180 ECTS have been obtained, the missing 30 credit points must be successfully completed or evidence of them provided within 12 months of commencing the master’s programme.
- New from 2026: Proof of at least 10 credit points (ECTS) from modules in economics and/or mathematics from the above-mentioned degree programme.
- For foreign bachelor’s degree certificates: VPD (preliminary examination), issued for Hochschule München. Please apply for this via uni-assist by the end of March.
- For bachelor's degrees obtained outside the EU: proof of a GMAT (no minimum score).
- International applicants who did not obtain their university entrance qualification at a German-speaking educational institution must provide evidence of German language proficiency at level B2 (CEFR) before commencing their studies – see ‘Proof of German language proficiency’. This does not apply to applicants for the Digital Technology Management specialisation.
- To assess suitability for the specific degree programme, an admissions interview is held (usually at the end of June or in July). Candidates must pass this interview.
- In addition, applicants should already have English language skills at level B2 (CEFR) at the time of application (no proof required).
Applications for the following winter semester can be submitted from 2 to 31 May and must, without exception, be made online via our application portal.

The date and details of the next admissions interview will be announced in early 2027.
If your application meets all the admission requirements, you will receive an invitation by email, containing further details, no later than one to two weeks before the date of the interview. Please keep the whole day or days free until then.
If you have ‘passed’ the admissions interview, you will receive your admission letter via Primuss approximately 1–2 weeks later.
If your application does not meet our admission requirements, you will not be invited to an interview. The official rejection letter will only be sent once the interviews have been completed in July (via Primuss).
All students are required to pay a Student Union fee .
In addition, from winter semester 2026/27, tuition fees of €700 per semester will apply to students from non-EU countries (see Fees FAQ ).
