Major subject Sustainability Management
A warm welcome to the Sustainability Management major subject
What makes our major subject unique is that the initiative came from our students. It was only made possible by your support and the positive feedback received in the student survey on the Sustainability major subject during the 2021/22 winter semester.

Climate change is the greatest challenge of our time: extreme weather, natural disasters, loss of biodiversity and man-made climate disasters. Tackling this requires a shift in thinking at both political and economic levels. With its focus on sustainability – and the help of proactive students like you – Hochschule München aims to play its part in this. This major subject is the right choice for you if you’re looking for a meaningful career and have original ideas for creating a better future for everyone. You’re also prepared to challenge old structures and break new ground.
- The aim is to raise awareness of the areas in which economic science needs to rethink its approach and where outdated ways of thinking must be critically examined. Furthermore, the aim is to identify and develop possibilities and opportunities for sustainable economic activity. (NM.1)
- With a diverse team of lecturers from all academic disciplines, the programme places a strong emphasis on interdisciplinarity. You will gain insights into Sustainability Management from the perspectives of marketing, supply chain management, finance, accounting and controlling, and taxation. (NM. 2)

You will discover how business ideas can be made more sustainable and how new sustainable solutions can be developed.
