When, how and where can I submit an application for the BA in Business Administration and Management programme?
The extra-occupational Bachelor’s degree programme can be started annually in the summer semester (March) and in the winter semester (October). Applications must therefore be submitted by 15 January (summer semester) or 15 July (winter semester) of the relevant year at the latest. Applications for admission must be submitted online. You will find the relevant link to the Munich University of Applied Sciences application portal on our website. All required application documents must be attached to the application.
This degree programme is a ‘non-selective programme’, which means that there is no specific minimum entry requirement (NC).
Do you have to submit an application for the general Abitur?
You can also submit an application if you hold a vocational baccalaureate or other higher education entrance qualifications. For example, if you hold a master craftsman’s certificate or are recognised as a qualified professional.
Can the duration of the course be shortened?
The duration of the programme, which is 11 semesters, may be shortened upon application and following review by the examination board, provided that evidence of equivalent qualifications is provided.
The following, for example, may be taken into account for academic credit transfer:
- Professional experience demonstrated by proof of employment
- Credits from prior qualifications in business administration, provided these were obtained after completing a higher education entrance qualification (Abitur, Fachabitur, Meisterprüfung or similar). E.g. credits from the Business Administration qualification under the HwO
Examples:
- By applying academic credit transfer for professional experience in combination with the project work integrated into the degree programme, the duration of the degree programme can be reduced to 8 semesters.
- By conducting further academic credit transfer, such as that from the Business Administration (HwO) programme, the duration of the course can be reduced to 5 semesters. To this end, an individual assessment of the supporting documents submitted (certificates, etc.) takes place at the start of the relevant semester.
Is it possible to have the two practical semesters recognised for academic credit transfer even if you only start working at the beginning of your degree or afterwards?
As the practical semesters are only scheduled for the fifth and ninth semesters respectively, this does not pose a problem. Proof of relevant work experience is required for academic credit transfer.
Where do the lectures take place?
Lectures take place mainly online on Tuesdays, and on Fridays and Saturdays at our Pasing Campus. Any changes to this schedule will be announced in good time.
How many students usually enrol?
The number of applicants always varies between the summer and winter semesters. For this reason, we are unable to provide exact figures. However, the ‘family-like’ atmosphere of this degree programme offers students the ideal conditions for exchanging ideas and networking with fellow students and lecturers.
You can find all important dates, such as the application period, in the calender and on the HM website under ‘Application deadlines‘.

Have you secured your vocational qualification but don’t have a school-leaving certificate, and would now like to go to university? Nothing stands in the way of an academic career!
Thanks to the partnership between the Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria!
Since 2012, all holders of a ‘Meister’ qualification, as well as those who have completed equivalent vocational training, have had the opportunity to enrol on a degree programme at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. No further proof of academic achievement is required for this, apart from having passed the ‘Meister’ or vocational training examination. Since its inception, the BA in Business Administration & Management programme has produced over 115 successful graduates. They are now successfully running their parents’ businesses or have set up their own companies. What makes this programme special is that academic credit transfer is possible for qualifications obtained prior to the degree, such as the ‘Betriebswirt des Handwerks’ (Crafts Business Administration), which means that modules from the programme can be credited towards these qualifications, thereby shortening the duration of the course.
