The Master's specialisation in Marketing Management prepares you for a challenging role that will be crucial to all our futures. You will learn how, in an era of extreme market dynamics and volatility, to design, implement and market products, services and business models that deliver added value to customers and society. We address the pressing issues of sustainability, digitalisation and ‘glocalisation’ in interactive modules, in collaboration with corporate partners from a range of sectors, and apply academic insights to real-world practice.

Would you like to combine megatrends with customer value when designing products that are in line with market and societal needs? Do you possess the necessary analytical, conceptual, technological and empathetic abilities? Are a practical approach and an international focus important to you – ideally combined with an internship abroad? Then this master’s programme is just right for you!
The MSc in Business Administration, specialising in Marketing Management, qualifies graduates to embark on their careers as specialists and future managers in all areas of product and service marketing, as well as business development.
The first semester focuses on strategic marketing, market and consumer research, and sales and technology management. In the second semester, the focus is on brand and customer communication – through subjects such as brand management and customer relationship management – as well as on developing intercultural skills. The third semester introduces you to the strategies and operational measures of international and global marketing, as well as to sustainability marketing. You will also write your Master’s thesis.

Programme structure (for students starting from winter term 2026)
An internship abroad lasting several months with an international company, or an additional semester at an accredited foreign university, are optional. You will also be prepared for working abroad through intercultural training and studies on the establishment of German companies overseas.
The stay abroad can take place after the second semester of study. As there are usually more applications than places available abroad, master’s degree students must go through a selection procedure. A place cannot be guaranteed.

You will be exceptionally well-qualified for all client-facing roles in start-ups, SMEs or large companies. Our graduates make a significant contribution to their companies’ success in areas such as product management, key account management, sales management, market and media research, campaign management, business development and e-commerce management.

Our admission requirements are:
- a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (or an equivalent subject) comprising at least six theoretical semesters and at least 180 credit points (ECTS), completed with an overall examination mark of 2.59 or better.
- If only 180 ECTS have been obtained, the missing 30 credit points must be successfully completed or evidence of them provided within 12 months of commencing the master’s programme.
- New from 2026: Proof of at least 10 credit points (ECTS) from modules in economics and/or mathematics from the above-mentioned degree programme.
- For foreign bachelor’s degree certificates: VPD (preliminary examination), issued for Hochschule München. Please apply for this via uni-assist by the end of March.
- For bachelor's degrees obtained outside the EU: proof of a GMAT (no minimum score).
- International applicants who did not obtain their university entrance qualification at a German-speaking educational institution must provide evidence of German language proficiency at level B2 (CEFR) before commencing their studies – see ‘Proof of German language proficiency’. This does not apply to applicants for the Digital Technology Management specialisation.
- To assess suitability for the specific degree programme, an admissions interview is held (usually at the end of June or in July). Candidates must pass this interview.
- In addition, applicants should already have English language skills at level B2 (CEFR) at the time of application (no proof required).
Applications for the following winter semester can be submitted from 2 to 31 May and must, without exception, be made online via our application portal.

The admissions interview for the master's degree in Business Administration, specialising in Marketing Management, took place online on Monday 6 July and Tuesday 7 July 2026.
Information 2026 (in German)
The date and details of the next admissions interview will be announced in early 2027.
If your application meets all the admission requirements, you will receive an invitation by email, containing further details, no later than one to two weeks before the date of the interview. Please keep the whole day or days free until then.
If you have ‘passed’ the admissions interview, you will receive your admission letter via Primuss approximately 1–2 weeks later.
If your application does not meet our admission requirements, you will not be invited to an interview. The official rejection letter will only be sent once the interviews have been completed in July (via Primuss).
All students are required to pay a Student Union fee .
In addition, from winter semester 2026/27, tuition fees of €700 per semester will apply to students from non-EU countries (see Fees FAQ ).
