The Digital Sustainable Procurement & Supply Management specialisation is one of the very few degree programmes in Germany that provides you with in-depth preparation for the vital role that procurement plays today in the industrial and service sectors. This Master’s is about nothing less than integrating procurement into the company’s entire value chain and realising sustainable competitive advantages across organisations. This degree programme prepares graduates for a career as specialists and future managers in the fields of procurement and supply chain management, equipping them with particular expertise in digitalisation and sustainability. Graduates also stand out for their cross-functional approach, sound understanding of technology, and networking and negotiation skills.
The first semester focuses on core concepts of strategic procurement, tactical and operational processes in purchasing, and sustainable supply chain management. In the second semester, the focus shifts to cross-functional factors, technology management, financing aspects and cost efficiency. The third semester is devoted – alongside the writing of the Master’s thesis – to value creation strategies, business models and the use of software applications in operations and sales management.

Programme structure (for students starting from winter term 2026)
An internship abroad lasting several months with an international company, or an additional semester at an accredited foreign university, are optional. You will also be prepared for working abroad through intercultural training and studies on the establishment of German companies overseas.
The stay abroad can take place after the second semester of study. As there are usually more applications than places available abroad, master’s degree students must go through a selection procedure. A place cannot be guaranteed.

Upon completion of this master's degree, you will not only be ideally qualified to take on established management roles in procurement and supply chain management: you will also be in demand as an expert who brings new knowledge to the organisation. Typical job roles for graduates include, for example, global supply chain management, sustainable procurement management or Project Management for digitalisation within the logistics and procurement sector. Examples of new roles emerging as a result of digitalisation include procurement data scientists, innovation scouts or procurement process managers.

Our admission requirements are:
- a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (or an equivalent subject) comprising at least six theoretical semesters and at least 180 credit points (ECTS), completed with an overall examination mark of 2.59 or better.
- If only 180 ECTS have been obtained, the missing 30 credit points must be successfully completed or evidence of them provided within 12 months of commencing the master’s programme.
- New from 2026: Proof of at least 10 credit points (ECTS) from modules in economics and/or mathematics from the above-mentioned degree programme.
- For foreign bachelor’s degree certificates: VPD (preliminary examination), issued for Hochschule München. Please apply for this via uni-assist by the end of March.
- For bachelor's degrees obtained outside the EU: proof of a GMAT (no minimum score).
- International applicants who did not obtain their university entrance qualification at a German-speaking educational institution must provide evidence of German language proficiency at level B2 (CEFR) before commencing their studies – see ‘Proof of German language proficiency’. This does not apply to applicants for the Digital Technology Management specialisation.
- To assess suitability for the specific degree programme, an admissions interview is held (usually at the end of June or in July). Candidates must pass this interview.
- In addition, applicants should already have English language skills at level B2 (CEFR) at the time of application (no proof required).
Applications for the following winter semester can be submitted from 2 to 31 May and must, without exception, be made online via our application portal.

The admissions interview for the master's degree in Business Administration, specialising in Digital Sustainable Procurement & Supply Management, took place online in July 2026.

The date and details of the next admissions interview will be announced in early 2027.
If your application meets all the admission requirements, you will receive an invitation by email, containing further details, no later than one to two weeks before the date of the interview. Please keep the whole day or days free until then.
If you have ‘passed’ the admissions interview, you will receive your admission letter via Primuss approximately 1–2 weeks later.
If your application does not meet our admission requirements, you will not be invited to an interview. The official rejection letter will only be sent once the interviews have been completed in July (via Primuss).
All students are required to pay a Student Union fee .
In addition, from winter semester 2026/27, tuition fees of €700 per semester will apply to students from non-EU countries (see Fees FAQ ).
